Acupuncture / Acupressure Piercing

The Synergy of Experience and Tradition
Where Body Art Meets Well-Being

Since 1989, I have dedicated my life to the art of piercing.
Over the years, I have learned that piercings can be much more than aesthetic jewelry.

In my studio, I combine decades of technical precision and experience with the principles of traditional acupuncture and reflexology.

Honestly? I Was Skeptical at First…
I have been a professional piercer for almost four decades.

When the first requests for “medical piercings” started coming in, I was honestly very cautious.
“Can a piercing really influence physical discomfort?”

That was my first thought.
But years of practical experience proved otherwise.
Over time, I received countless messages from clients who reported noticeable improvements after their appointments, whether regarding chronic migraines, cravings, stress, or stubborn allergies.
These positive experiences gradually transformed my initial skepticism into genuine conviction.
Today, I use my technical expertise to precisely stimulate targeted reflex points on the ear.

An Important Difference: Experience vs. Medicine
Transparency is extremely important to me:

I am not a medical practitioner, and I do not provide medical treatments or healing services.
My work is based on nearly 40 years of professional piercing experience combined with the precise stimulation of points traditionally used in acupuncture and auricular reflexology.
What I offer is a highly professional piercing service performed with precision on a point that may hold special significance for you.

The Wide Variety of Acupuncture Points
The possibilities are extensive.
We are not limited to just a few standard points.
The anatomy of the ear contains a complex network of reflex zones that can be used in many different ways.
Our expertise includes point stimulation for:

1. Health & Pain Support

Migraine & Headache Points
Targeted stimulation of zones traditionally associated with tension relief and relaxation of the head area.

Allergy Points
Often chosen as supportive stimulation for seasonal allergies such as hay fever.
Points for: Tinnitus – Dizziness – Nausea

2. Balance & Emotional Well-Being

Stress Reduction & Sleep Support
Stimulation of calming relaxation points such as Shen Men.
Emotional Balance
Supportive point stimulation aimed at promoting inner calm and emotional stability.

3. Lifestyle & Addiction Support
Smoking Cessation Support
Stimulation of specific points traditionally associated with addiction management.

Cravings & Weight Management
Points commonly chosen to support appetite control and healthy eating habits.

Why BloodyMary?
Because Experience Matters.

We take our time.
After nearly 40 years of experience, I know exactly what matters most:

a precise analysis of your ear anatomy and the accurate placement of the piercing on the reflex point that best suits you.
Every piercing is individually tailored to you, performed in an atmosphere of trust, maximum hygiene, passion, and attention to detail.

Important Legal Notice

The effects associated with acupuncture piercings are based on long-standing experiences within natural medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
However, please note that these effects are not fully scientifically or medically proven according to conventional medicine.
The stimulation of these points does not replace medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment by a qualified healthcare professional.
I do not make medical diagnoses, nor do I promise healing results.

HEALING PHASE FOR PIERCINGS

It is completely normal for every freshly pierced piercing to go through a mild inflammatory phase during the healing process.

Jewelry is a foreign object that constantly moves between a sterile area (the inner channel) and a non-sterile area (outside the channel).
Because of this movement, bacteria naturally present in the air or on the skin can enter the sterile channel.

To ensure a smooth and problem-free healing process, proper aftercare is extremely important.

A major factor in healing is also the physical and emotional condition of the client.
If a piercing is done during a particularly stressful or unsuitable period, healing may become more difficult and take longer.

Everyday Life & Profession Matter

Daily activities and working conditions can strongly influence the healing process depending on the piercing placement.

Example:

When sitting for long periods, a navel piercing may be forced into an unfavorable position. The resulting pressure can create tiny capillary tears during healing and may lead to irritation or inflammation caused by bacteria that naturally develop within the channel over time.

The same can happen with ear piercings when sleeping directly on them.

Important Precautions During Healing

For dusty working environments or dusty sports activities, it is recommended to keep the pierced area covered as airtight as possible until the healing process is completed.

Activities that create friction on the fresh piercing should be avoided, as well as clothing or objects that apply direct pressure, for example:

Hats or helmets on fresh ear piercings
Tight waistbands on navel piercings
Tight or rubbing clothing on body piercings

In some cases, cushioning the area can help reduce direct pressure.

Sun & UV Exposure

Fresh piercings should not be exposed to direct sunlight or UV radiation during healing.
Metal jewelry can heat up significantly and may cause burns or irritation inside the piercing channel.

AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

For the first 4 weeks, clean the piercing carefully 3 times daily using Prontolind solution or spray together with cotton swabs.
Carefully remove any crust buildup and keep the area protected with a bandage or plaster.

Crusts are crystal-like deposits that may damage or contaminate the piercing channel if not removed properly.

Showering & Hygiene

When showering, leave the plaster/bandage on whenever possible.

Use only:
pH-neutral shower gels
mild shampoos

After showering:
Clean the piercing again
Disinfect the area

Re-cover it with a fresh plaster/bandage

Swimming & Water Exposure

Bathing in a bathtub (except for head piercings) is generally possible after approximately one month.

Swimming in lakes, pools, or in the the sea is only recommended during the healing process when using
fully waterproof protection, such as second skin
protection patches

For piercings located on the head or ears:
avoid diving and keep the piercing area as dry as possible

Oral Piercings

For the first 2 weeks, in addition to brushing and flossing:
clean the tongue with a tongue scraper
use an alcohol-free antibacterial mouthwash (e.g. Meridol)

It is also recommended to follow a mainly plant-based diet and avoid smoking during healing

Because of the open wound, viruses (such as HIV, hepatitis, etc.) and bacteria can be transmitted more easily through kissing, oral sex, and similar activities.
It is strongly advised to avoid these activities during the healing period.

Intimate Piercings

For intimate piercings, it is strongly recommended to avoid sexual activities — including oral sex — until the healing process is fully completed.
Because the piercing is an open wound, viruses and bacteria can be transmitted much more easily during healing.

Signs of Infection

If a piercing becomes infected, please contact the studio immediately or consult a doctor.

A bacterial infection may include:
redness
warmth
swelling
pain when touched
pus discharge

In such cases, aftercare must be adjusted and different products may be necessary, for example:

Octenisept
PVP-Iodine ointment (Ratiopharm)
Recommended procedure:
3 times daily for 10 days:
Carefully push out any pus using gentle pressure
(without removing the jewelry)
Disinfect and clean the area
Apply iodine ointment
Cover with a plaster/bandage
In more severe cases, an antibiotic ointment such as Fucidin may be required.

Important Warning

Neglecting an infected piercing can lead to serious complications.
If not treated quickly, excessive scar tissue (“wild flesh” / hypertrophic tissue) may develop.
Removal of such tissue is usually only possible through a dermatologist.
Untreated infections can, in extreme cases, lead to blood poisoning (sepsis).

If you have any questions or uncertainties, please call the studio during opening hours, we will gladly explain everything again.

Thank you for your trust.

We wish you a fast, smooth, and problem-free healing process.

GiglioSkullRight

For your own safety and to ensure the best possible healing process, I kindly ask you to follow these aftercare instructions carefully.
